IBM Chose CICS as Icon of Progress

IBM recocnized CICS as an Icon of Progress as part of it's 100th celebration. This announcement coincides with the GA of CICS TS V4.2 (homepage).

First, as I'm sure you know, CICS TS V4.2 is generally available from today. There is already plenty of information about this release online, so I won't try to repeat it here. But I will say that we have tried very hard to make sure that there is something in this release for everybody. I’m sure you will let us know if we succeeded or not!

Secondly, to coincide with the GA, IBM has today announced that CICS has been recognised as an 'Icon of Progress'. This means that CICS has been chosen as one of the 100 most important ideas in IBM's entire 100 year history. It's one of fewer than 10 software products to make this list so far something that I know everybody here in the CICS team in Hursley is very proud of. If you have a few minutes spare, take a look at the list below and browse through some of the icons.
